747 Days: The Battle That Almost Broke Me

747 days.

That’s how long I was in a legal battle with my former business partner.

747 days of feeling like I was being dragged through the fire,  financially, emotionally, spiritually.

From my perspective, I didn’t do anything wrong. And that might’ve been the hardest part,  the confusion. The wondering. The constant weight of, “What did I miss?” I genuinely don’t know what I did to trigger this. And if I did wrong him somehow, I can honestly say it wasn’t intentional,  and for that, I am sorry.

But regardless of what I understood or didn’t, he felt wronged. And that reality launched a legal process that stretched over two years and took a serious toll on me and my family.

It wasn’t just the financial strain,  although that was real.
It was the emotional and spiritual weight.
The stress that bled into my marriage, my mindset, and my ability to lead.
It was the sleepless nights. The anxiety. The heaviness that wouldn’t let go.
It was the pressure to keep going while silently feeling like I was unraveling.

Some days, I wanted to shut down completely.
Some days, I questioned everything.
But I kept showing up,  for my wife, for my family, for my team,  and for the man I’m becoming.

Finally, after 747 days, we reached an agreement.
It didn’t feel like a “win.”
But it did feel like release.

I could breathe again. The weight began to lift. And I started to reclaim my peace.

But here’s the real turning point: forgiveness.

I’ve forgiven him.
Not just in passing, not just in theory,  but fully.
I don’t carry the bitterness anymore. I’m not held down by resentment.
And truthfully, I pray for him and his family when they come to mind.
Not out of obligation, but out of freedom.

This journey taught me that forgiveness is not weakness.
It’s not forgetting.
It’s strength. It’s surrender. It’s choosing to live unburdened.

It taught me that sometimes, the breakthrough doesn’t come when the papers are signed,  it comes when your heart finally lets go.

If you’re walking through a battle like this,  one that feels confusing, painful, or undeserved,  I see you.

And I want you to know something:

You’re not alone.
You’re not lost.
And you’re not stuck.

There’s freedom on the other side of forgiveness.
And when you choose that path,  no matter how long it takes,  the burden starts to break.
