Proverbs 3:1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

Proverbs 3:2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

Proverbs 3:3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

Proverbs 3:4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Proverbs 3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

Proverbs 3:8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Proverbs 3:9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

Proverbs 3:10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Proverbs 3:12 For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Proverbs 3:13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

Proverbs 3:14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

Proverbs 3:15 She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

Proverbs 3:16 Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.

Proverbs 3:17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

Proverbs 3:18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

Proverbs 3:28 Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

Proverbs 3:29 Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.

Proverbs 3:30 Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.

Proverbs 3:31 Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.

Proverbs 3:32 For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.

Proverbs 3:33 The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

Proverbs 3:34 Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.

Proverbs 3:35 The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.

Proverbs 3:1

Verse My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

Study Solomon emphasizes internal obedience. “Forget not” requires intentional remembrance, while “let thine heart keep” shows that God’s commandments must be guarded inwardly, not merely practiced outwardly.

Proverbs 3:2

Verse For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

Study Obedience produces stability and wholeness. “Peace” speaks of completeness and well-being. The principle is that living aligned with God’s design brings sustaining blessing.

Proverbs 3:3

Verse Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

Study Mercy and truth must be both visible and internalized. “Bind them” suggests outward expression, while “write them upon thine heart” emphasizes deep character formation.

Proverbs 3:4

Verse So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Study A life marked by compassion and integrity earns divine approval and human trust. God honors consistency, and people respect it.

Proverbs 3:5

Verse Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Study Trust must be wholehearted. Leaning on personal understanding implies self-dependence. Wisdom begins by surrendering intellectual pride.

Proverbs 3:6

Verse In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Study Acknowledging God means recognizing His authority in every aspect of life. The promise is divine direction—God straightens and establishes the path of the one who submits to Him.

Proverbs 3:7

Verse Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

Study Self-perceived wisdom blinds. Reverence for the Lord produces separation from evil. Humility opens the door to true understanding.

Proverbs 3:8

Verse It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Study This imagery describes deep internal vitality. Spiritual humility produces inner strength and stability.

Proverbs 3:9

Verse Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

Study God is to receive first place, not leftovers. “Firstfruits” reflect trust and priority. Financial obedience is an expression of spiritual allegiance.

Proverbs 3:10

Verse So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Study The promise reflects provision under God’s care. When He is prioritized, He sustains and supplies according to His wisdom.

Proverbs 3:11

Verse My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction:

Study Correction should not be rejected or resented. Divine discipline is meant for growth, not harm.

Proverbs 3:12

Verse For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Study God’s correction confirms relationship. Just as a loving father disciplines a cherished son, God refines those He loves.

Proverbs 3:13

Verse Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

Study True happiness flows from wisdom, not circumstances. Understanding produces lasting satisfaction.

Proverbs 3:14

Verse For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

Study Wisdom yields greater return than material wealth. Its value surpasses financial gain.

Proverbs 3:15

Verse She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

Study Nothing compares to wisdom. Desires for possessions, status, or power pale in comparison.

Proverbs 3:16

Verse Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.

Study Wisdom leads to stability and often results in honor. The imagery portrays wisdom as holding enduring blessings.

Proverbs 3:17

Verse Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

Study God’s wisdom produces harmony, not chaos. It leads to a life marked by peace.

Proverbs 3:18

Verse She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

Study Wisdom sustains and nourishes like a life-giving tree. Those who cling to it experience enduring blessing.

Proverbs 3:19

Verse The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.

Study Creation itself was established through divine wisdom. Wisdom is woven into the fabric of reality.

Proverbs 3:20

Verse By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.

Study God’s knowledge governs natural processes. Aligning with wisdom aligns with the order He created.

Proverbs 3:21

Verse My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:

Study Wisdom requires continual attention. It must be guarded and kept in view.

Proverbs 3:22

Verse So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.

Study Wisdom strengthens internally and beautifies externally. It shapes both character and reputation.

Proverbs 3:23

Verse Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.

Study Wisdom provides stability and reduces avoidable harm. It steadies the believer’s path.

Proverbs 3:24

Verse When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

Study A clear conscience and trust in God produce restful sleep. Peace replaces anxiety.

Proverbs 3:25

Verse Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.

Study The wise are not paralyzed by unexpected trouble. Trust in God steadies the heart.

Proverbs 3:26

Verse For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

Study God Himself becomes security and protection. Confidence rests in His faithfulness.

Verse Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

Study Righteousness includes active generosity. When you have the ability to help, you are responsible to act.

Proverbs 3:28

Verse Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

Study Delaying good is often a form of neglect. Immediate obedience honors both God and neighbor.

Proverbs 3:29

Verse Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.

Study Do not betray trust. Integrity protects relationships and honors God.

Proverbs 3:30

Verse Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.

Study Avoid unnecessary conflict. Peaceful restraint reflects maturity.

Proverbs 3:31

Verse Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.

Study Do not admire or imitate wicked success. Temporary gain through injustice leads to ultimate loss.

Proverbs 3:32

Verse For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.

Study The crooked are detestable to God, but the upright are granted intimate counsel and insight.

Proverbs 3:33

Verse The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

Verse Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.

Let wisdom guard my life, bring peace to my mind, and establish my steps. Help me honor You with everything—my time, my actions, my money, my relationships, and my work.

Lord, keep fear far from me. Be my confidence. Bless my house, protect my family, and fill my decisions with Your wisdom. Lead me into the life of peace that Your Word promises. In Jesus’ name, amen.
